Billy Tringali is an award-winning researcher, speaker, and faculty librarian at Indiana University Indianapolis. Tringali is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Anime and Manga Studies and Academic Showrunner of JAMS@AX, creating the first-ever academic journal and convention partnership. Billy was named a Library Journal Mover and Shaker in 2025, dubbing him the “Anime Apostle.”

The Journal of Anime and Manga Studies is indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals and published through the Illinois Open Publishing Network. This means JAMS is free to read for anyone interested, anywhere in the world.
