Billy Tringali is a researcher, speaker, and faculty librarian at Indiana University Indianapolis. Tringali is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Anime and Manga Studies and Coordinator of JAMS@AX, an academic conference that takes place inside of Anime Expo. Tringali’s research ranges across popular culture, focusing mainly on anime and manga studies, vampires, cosplay, and fan studies.

Billy Tringali is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Anime and Manga Studies (JAMS), an open-access, academic journal dedicated to the study of anime, manga, cosplay, and their fandoms.
 

The Journal of Anime and Manga Studies is indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals, and recommended as a resource by colleges and universities including University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the University of British Columbia, the University of Texas at Dallas, The Ohio State University, the University of Oregon, and more.

JAMS has been highlighted by the Anime News Network, and is published through the Illinois Open Publishing Network. JAMS is currently on its Fourth Volume, and is free to read to anyone interested, anywhere in the world.
